Editorial policy
These are the standards behind every page on Hot Springs Route.
Independence
No one can pay to be listed, to rank higher in a list, or to change what a page says. If we later earn money from ads or affiliate links, that will never change which springs we list or the facts we show, and we will say so on the disclosure page.
Accuracy
Every fact on a spring page needs a source: the operator, a land agency, or another page we fetched and stored. A fact is accepted only when our software finds the quoted sentence on that page, and numbers must appear in that sentence. Details we cannot confirm are left out rather than guessed. Each page lists its sources and the date its facts were last verified.
Corrections
Use "Report an update" on any spring page or the contact form. We check reports against the operator or land manager, usually within a few days. When a correction changes a material fact such as the price, access or open status, the page shows a "Corrected on" note with the date.
Use of AI
Pages are written with the help of AI from the verified facts only, then checked by software for any number or name that is not in the verified data. Pages that fail are rewritten or held back. AI is never the source of a fact. How we verify explains every step.
Safety information
We report hazards, closures and rules that land agencies and operators publish, such as road conditions, fire closures or water quality notices. We do not rate safety ourselves. Conditions change, so check with the land manager or operator before you go.
No health claims
We do not say or suggest that hot spring water heals, cures or treats anything. If a source makes such a claim, we leave it out.
No fake people
We do not publish reviews, testimonials or invented authors. The pages are published by Hot Springs Route as an organization.
